Revised Sub Wiring Quest. I messed up, Dont Turn into Flame War

That Last post i made,
i must say thanks guys, that truly did help me out. cept i screwed up.....

The Subs Are DUAL 4OHM. i just got messy with it.

anyways, i prefer to run it at four ohm so i can keep it clean sounding, and clean poundin.
ok, This is where i need everyones help, yes its personal opinion time, You Get To make a post about a brand, if another person knocks it, do not return fire, just prove you point, i dont need a flame war.

(Regis) "here is the question, For one million dollars*, What Amp Would You use to Power two DVC 4ohm, Eclipse Aluminums?"

Thanx Guys

*not really for one million dollars...

heh, not to make fun of you but i hate stupidass questions like that, i wish ppl would just use some commen sense. first off look on the back of your sub so see how much power it can handle. next buy and amp that will throw that much power at it..simple

LOL. we will go easy on you for that one dood.

well, i can guess that your new to car audio install,
you cannot just wire an amp to your subs,
you are dealing with a DVC, (dual voice coil) and then from there, two of them,
i think that im supposed to use series parallel, but uncertainty makes me hole back because its been awhile, most people know the wattage of eclipse alum's, they are set at 500 rms, and a 1000 peak. ever seen a sub take 1000 watts continously? well, you have to make sure everything is set correctly to get optimum performance and not fry your amp.

So Dont Just hook it up.
ah well.... one response...

Ok, so you got 2 dvc 4 ohm subs. Here is one way to do it:

wire each subs voice coil to be 8omhs, then parralel them to the amp.

Like this:

use 2 speaker wires on the + out of the amp.
1 + speaker wire goes to a single + terminal of each sub.
then take the negative terminal on the sub, and wire it to the other positive terminal on the same sub (do the same on the other sub). Then take the left over negative terminals on the subs, and wire them both to the negative speaker output of the amp.

This will give you the final 4ohm load you want.

As for brands, the usual suspects apply. JL, Rockford, Kicker, etc ...

If you want to run 1000 watts, make sure the amp you get can deliver 1000 watts at 4 ohms.
Many so called 1000 watt amps only deliver 1000 watts at a lower impedance (which you could achieve with those subs if you wanted, you could go down to 1 ohm total).
