Does anyone have speakers in the doors?
Well, I do. I just didn't know if it was stock or not. I have posted this a couple of times and got no answer. They don't sound that great so I will probably replace them soon. They are in a pretty nice place. Not at the bottom like fourth gens but at the top right next to your ears. They feel like 6x8's but I will find out when I take my panels off. Any suggestions on what brand to get? I have 6x9 Rockford Fosgates in the rear and I like them a lot. Should I go with those? And lastly, would it be possible to run all 6 speakers at once (the dash speakers are gone).
Thanks for any help since I don't know anything about sound systems, but it would be nice to be able to hear the radio over my exhaust.
BTW I have a Sony 50x4 watt cd player xplod or whatever if that makes any difference.

I've never heard of any thirdgen coming with speakers in the door...I may be wrong though. I thought they just came in the dash, and the cars with the Bose stereo option had small ones in the kicks. Personally I would go with kicks instead of doors...you can get better imaging and it will reduce side-biasing. Also, stick to 4 speakers; two in the front and two in the back, unless you go with components, just one set on each side in the front.

No thirdgen ever came with speakers in the doors. I put a pair of 6.5" speakers in my firebird doors with manual window cranks. They JUST barely fit. In a car with power windows you have to build the doors out the full depth of the speakers. For the amount of work it takes, I'd just do kicks. They'll be easier and sound much better.

When I bought my car, it already had 6 1/2" Pioneers mounted in the doors; down on the bottom towards the front.
The door is not built out at all and they site perfectly flush - even with the power window motor. They are very shallow speakers though. I will get the model # if you would like it?
The other guys are right on the kickpanels sounding better. I will be bandpassing the pioneers for midbass only once my DJSexy kicks show up (should be today ... WooHoo)

i have both, Q forms and door mounts. They are the same speakers and I prefer my door mounts.

What I was really wondering is if I should just take those out and put in the ones in the dash like factory.
Thanks.

Yea, I would take them out because you said they are mounted on the top of the door. If the speaker is right next to your head, get rid of them and it should sound a lot better.
Use just the dash speakers, or get some kickpanels.
