what does a crossover do and how do u install it

 

a crossover will limit what freq. get to your speakers. for instance, you don't really want like 50hz(which is good for a sub) to go to your 3 1/2s or whatever. and you don't want 5000hz going to a subwoffer. why? beacuse they can't produce the bass/highs and will distort the louder it gets or worse yet ruin your speakers/subs . and you install crossovers by running your speaker wires in one spot and out the other. then you have control over your speakers what you need to block off etc. if you need anymore hlep let me know
