Update kicks part 1...
Well, now that I've ditched about everything that I was working on for the bird, at least I've started working on the final revision of the kicks...
Right now they are just raw fiberglass. Once I finish the mold for the 8's I'll carpet it all in matching charcoal so they blend in when the grills are on.
I'll update more as I add the portion for the 8's and the horns under the dash...
More another day...

Yes and Yes...
The R&D person over at ID is my old installer and he and I have been working on the front stage design.
Basically 8's setup with AP mats.

Mike,
I used the stock plastic as a mold. Just used some PVA and laid right over the top of it to make a duplicate. The stock pieces are sitting off to the side for future use if I need them.
Belive it or not, the "body" of the kicks was made off of a rewritable cd spindle cover. I just cut it to the heigh and angle that I needed and used it as a mold for a fiberglass ring that was positioned exactly the way I wanted. Added my baffle to that, wraped a wring of 1/8" hardboard around the baffle for the inser for the grill and streatched an old t-shirt and 2 layers of mat for the rest. I'm thinking I'll have to remember that cd spindle trick down the road as it worked out rather well.
Here's the ring for the 8's to give you an idea of how they'll sit.

I think I might be a little confused by those last pictures. Are you installing 6.5" in the kicks and 8s behind them? The pictures look like you will have ZERO foot room and is the brake pedal going to go down all the way? Why not install the 8s in the door panel?

5 1/4's in the kicks and 8's behind them.
They will essentially be sunk into the floor with a small enclosure with AP mats built outside the car (partially in the wheel well).
Even if I were to leave them as they look in that picture, I would still have about 3" of clearance behind the break pedal when it was depressed all the way, so clearance is no concern.
Once it is all in place and carpeted over, you should only see the grill for the 8 and loose less than 1-2" of leg room...keep in mind that those pics were just to show rough positioning.
Above both of those tucked back as far as they will go will be a set of horns.

Wouldn't take much to adapt these to seperates, but that's DJSexy's domain and I'll leave it to him to sell the kicks. I don't have enough time to produce any for sale anyway...I'm lucky I get time to work in my own car.
