Question on switching car stereos

Ok heres the problem.I have a 85 Firebird and a 84 Trans Am.I just bought the Trans Am last week and it came with a tape player. While owning the Firebird I had a Sony X-Plod installed into it.Well I am selling the Firebird tomorrow so I am taking the cd player out and putting it into the Trans Am and vice versa. My question is do I need to remove anything else besides the units themselves? I have already removed both units but I was thinking that I needed to remove the black boxes that plug into the back of the units also.I have a 4 year warrenty on the X-Plod that comes with free installation into any car I purchase within the 4 years so I was just wondering what all I needed to take out before I take the cd player up to best buy to get it installed into the Trans Am.

"IF" your Sony was installed properly with a wiring harness...It should just be plug n' play.

When you remove the sony, be sure to get the mounting kit (black plastic to adapt to din and a half opening) and the gm antenna adapter if your car needed one (not sure what year they switched to the micro style connector)

The TA radio should just drop right in and plug to the factory harness if it hasn't been cut.
