or is there such a thing as to close to the speakers.like to mount the amp on a box with 2 8"speakers so I dont have to mount it to the car.I think I have seen it done,not sure though.The amp would be about 2 inches from the back of speakers.thanks

 

There's no problem mounting an amp on a box.

 

I've got a slanted cabinet right behind the back seat with 2 6 x 9s and the amp is in the middle. I haven't had any problems and it looks and sounds good.

 

I have my amp mounted directly to my box with 2-12", and i have no problems, but my friend had a cheap amp mounted to 2-15", and the vibrations messed with it, so i would say if you have a good name amp-go for it!

 

if u have a lot of bass do not mount on box the rattle will take its toll, try velcrow if u dont want to drill
