will mixing subs sound like crap??
will mixing subs sound like crap??
I wanted to get another 10". I have two mtx 6000 10's and I got a great deal on a 400 watt amp and a blaupunkt overdrive 10" sub. The mtx's are rated ate 250 rms and the blaupunkt is rated at 350 rms. Is there a way to make it sound good or if I mix them will they sound like crap no matter what. Would I be able to move the sub somewhere were it sounds good in my car??

When you take ANY 2 speakers that have non-identical sound characteristics, the way they blend will be totally unpredictable, but 99.9% of the time, the overall sound will be far, far worse than one or the other. Most people that say different are tone deaf and just think louder=better. Somewhere out there I'm sure there's a legitimate situation where it worked out well, but I'd say they're quite far and few between. I can't even stand having the same sub in 2 slightly different boxes.

if you plan on powering all three of them with the same amp,,it will also burn up your amp,,,mixing different speakers or different size speakers changes the way the sound wave moves and causes turbulance noise too..
