The amps arent installed in that pic..i hade just gutted the interior and run the power wire, rca's and remote REAL nice..redid all my plastics...very clean and no more squeeks...anyways.

when its all wired up there is 4 gauge wire run throught two 1 farad capasitors then each capasitor runs a Memphis 1000D amp.(1110 watts rms). I also have a audiobahn line driver and external memphis crossover which are both really useless now that I have the Pioneer 8000R.

the subs are DVC 4ohm 12's wired in parallel to bridge each amp to 1 ohm load...i have had this setup about a year and hit 151.6 db's.....i say i have all the time but truth is I havent busted a windshield or hatch yet..(knocks on wood....

i dont even compete anymore so all that speaker and power is useless..i could have 2 tens for what i turn em up to now..

I'm not sure, but for 2200 RMS, shouldn't you run something a little bigger than 4 awg? Where do you plan on putting the amps? I really doubt you're going to break the glass either. Stuff like your rubber seals will give out way before the glass breaks. Real nice looking install so far (and car too! nice shine).

I am gonna make an amp rack to match the box right where the cargo cover is now...have them inverted with plexyglass and some fans...

there is only one size bigger for power wire (called alt gauge or something..at least thats how we pronounce it) and its overkill...between the dry cell battery, 180 amp alt and 2 caps i think i am pulling enough power.

It's "aught" gauge, better known as 0 AWG. It's not over kill, in fact, with your power levels, it's absolutely necessary. I'm using 2 AWG in my IROC with a current draw of right around 100 amps. I should be using 0 AWG and I'm pushing way less power than you.

i second what jim said.
im running two gauge, and i know that i will have to someday changeover to 0 gauge. nice box, i love the clean cut in for the hatch motor. car and rims look good, hm, how much would you want for the line driver? and can prob use it for a while, till i get the pio9300..

where did you run all your wires and such?

I acually dont doubt you guys on the awg i need to be using...i just dont wanna do it now that i got the interior back in..should have run it then but its expensive by the foot for us poor boys...

i ran the stinger RCA's almost along the floor near the driveshaft.Power Wire across driver side and remote across pass side...all run real far under the carpet..not just under plastics for once...Spreading them out may have been overkill but ya never know..i'd hate to put it all back and habe a hum the the system...

for the line driver...i'd take $35 plus shipping...it was $95 when I got it...for all i know they have come down and i'd be ripping you off but thats the number i'm thinkin though if you'd like it..

Just keep in mind that the best engine in the world is useless with junk gas. Same deal with your amps not getting enough power. The problem here is that there will be a voltage drop through the wire, which means your amp will be getting low voltage. This seriously comprimises the integrity of the amp, and can also lead to premature damage.
