I think if I made an bracket that sinks in than it would fit....I've takin off my dash many times I think it would work maybe more in the Camaro than Firebird's. That would be kick *** though

sorry, imgonna have to chop this up before the others.

ok, what your imagining as good sound, is decent midbass (representing lows) and highs from a large speaker.

now in reality there are other ways to accomplish this, but chopping your dash up like that, is not one of them.

type in the search at the topof the page type dash, and youll see that some people put in 5.25 or 6.5 speaker sets in there.

in this case thats my guess of what you should try to do...

gluck,
please dont chop your dash... cause when you chop, then you have to fix with duct tape.

There aren't any 6x9s that sound good enough to even waste your time with such a hack. Like DJ said, stuff some components into your kicks if you want better sound.

Yeah you can most likly cut holes in you ac vents to fit some 6x9 speakers...or just replace the original speakers with some good priced high quality original size speakers.
I'm sure they make smaller speakers that blow away most 6X9s

Hack at it

but why bother, I have yet to hear any 6x9 lay a finger on the sound quality of even a mid grade set of 6 1/2" separates. heck, most 6x9's have 6 1/2" coax counter parts that sound just as good, if not better.
