speakers and head unit setup
Hi, I was thinking to get these speakers for my '89GTA:
Pioneer TS-A4615(4x6"front) and TS-A6975(6x9"rear)
For the head unit:
Panasonic MXE CQ-DFX501 or Pioneer DEH-P47DH (better fit).
I already have a small mtx amp (100wRMS bridged into 4ohm) and a single 10" mtx sub.I'm planning to build a custom vented box. Could anyone tell me if I chosed the right stuff? I understand the sub is small, but I don't listen to hip-hop and I know cars without sealed trunk don't have bass at all... With a setup like this I need to change the wiring from the head unit to the speakers? Also I need a new HO alternator?
Thanks alot for any help!!!

You won't have to change the wiring to the new speakers. I would however, because you don't know the condition of the existing wire...its up to you. How does your amp get the signal? Do you have a line converter? When you get the new head unit, pick up a patch cable and run that to your amp (assuming that it has the capability) It will sound a lot better.

Thanks for the tips! I intend to get a head-unit with subwoofer preamp outputs so i can connect it like you said. So the total RMS power would be around 200w (23wx4 + 100w). At this low level of power I'm gonna allready need a H.O. alternator? Another question: for the instalation of the head unit (if it's smaller than the original one-like the panasonic) where I can get some sort of fitting kit to ease the instalation?
Thanks alot!
Thanks alot!
