sub box for t-top cars

Does anyone know of a custom sub box that would fit into a 4th gen firebird and also have the ability to hold the t-tops in the factory location?

I know that this is a 3rd gen board but someone might know something. At least i had a 1986 formula until my parents decided airbags are neccessory.

I can make you a pair of boxes for 12"s. They would be in the side compartments. One where the JL Stealthbox goes, one where the spare tire goes.

Email me for more info.

w7, forget it. Perhaps 1 on the side where the spare goes.

The problem is the w7 is so deep and has such a big magnet. I think the 12" needs about 10" of depth. The average woofer is 6" deep.

It 'may' be able to be done on the passenger side, but I cannot do it, as I would need to have the sub to make sure it would fit in depth wise.

BTW, .9 seems to be about the max on the driver side, the pass. side has a lot more room to play with.

Not to try and deter him from buying something from you DJSexay.

JL has a box that holds one 12" that fits under the left panel. Go to the topic about 6.5" subs on this board, and you will see the links that I posted.

the JL box is a 10, and it is only about .6 cu ft. And not deep enough for a W7.

I thought about putting a pair of W7's in my wife's 99 Camaro, but there just isn't the room to do it. Maybe the 10's, but definately not the 12s.

I was thinking of trying a 10W7 in the spare tire compartment of my '91. Do ya foresee any problems with that? Also, does anyone know if they're available to the public yet?

some dealers have a limited number of the 13 incher, but I do not think the 10 is released yet.

for a thirdgen , something could probably be made on the spare tire side, since you can have the woofer come into the well area some, since t-tops are not stored there like a 4th gen. Would be some major fabrication work, but would look very cool if done right. I think Carl is working on a sub enclosure for that side of the car that blends in with the stock plastic piece.
