Custom rear well amp/sub/CD enclosure

Greetings all... I recently completed a long term stereo project in my '83 Z-28 which includes a one-of-a-kind custom enclosure that I designed and built myself (with a little help from Home Depot) It is constructed of 1/2" fiberboard and 1 1/2" square pine, and it sits securely in the rear storage well. It is a "2 tier" design, with a Bazooka EL-8A powered subwoofer in the lower section, with Sony amp and CD changer and Lightning capacitor in the upper section. It has a hinged lid, and is designed for total venting, for both sub sound and cooling. The power cabling is all on the left side, and the signal cabling is all on the right, with the cabling entering the enclosure from the bottom of the rear quarter trim panels. I left enough slack in the wiring so the whole enclosure can be easily lifted out of the rear well. Even the amp is on a hinged platform, so it can be easily tilted up to make adjustments.

People who have seen have it have been amazed at the "stealth" nature of it all, since all the components are hidden under the cover, which blends into the interior virtually unnoticed. If I had the time, I could probably go into a little side business making these things, but my only interest at this point is to see if anyone may be interested in photos and blueprints???

Hey I did check out your site... quite impressive I might add (and the car looked good too heheheheh) I'll have to tell you that the ONLY way I was able to make my setup work, was by going with a Bazooka tube. I know the hot setup is to have as many massive subs powered by a zillion watt amp, but you make big sacrifices in space.

My system to my ears is quite balanced, and honestly, I don't need to enter any SPL contests (I play my music LOUD, but not to the point of permanent hearing loss.) The biggest advantage is that EVERYTHING is "stealth"... Sony M670 head with motorized black panel, factory speaker locations, and that big black box in the back that looks like a factory storage lid (if you even COULD see it through the tinted glass)

Again, it was my priorities that drove the design...
