Box Calculating Question

I'm building a sub box and have a quick question. How do you know how much airspace the actual sub takes up. Not how much airspace the sub needs, but how much space it takes up. I have JL 10W6's and I went to JL's site. It said the "displacement" of a 10W6 was .06ft^3. Is that the number I'm looking for? Does that seem right? If ya could clear this up for me real quick, that would be great. Thanks

Yea. That's it.

That's a pretty low number. They must have smaller sized magnets, huh?

I have an MTX Thunder 3000 12" and it takes up only .08ft^3 with a little 28oz. magnet. So I guess a 10" would be a little smaller.

But yea, that's it.

Most woofers have a give % to be + or -, so sub displacement isn't that critical.
