Keeping the tube down.....

Hey guys, I have a bazooka 8" tube and I'm not crazy about the sound shop putting 2 holes in my trunk to hold the damn thing down. Has anyone had any experience with using velcro to hold it down? Should I just let them drill the holes to hold it down and not worry about it?

It depends on where you want to put it. I have used velcro in a Jeep Cherokee, and a Honda Accord, but the guy in the Cherokee went off roading and the velcro wouldn't hold it. The Honda had no problems, and he was a street racer. If you're putting it in the well, then you won't have any problems, if you're putting it on the deck, DO NOT LET ANY ONE DRILL HOLES!!! That's where the gas tank is. But I'd try using velcro.

The lower well won't be a problem with the holes IF you use some silicone to seal them to prevent water from coming in. The gas tank is located under the upper part of the hatch. I had a tube back there for a long time and the only problem I had was when it slid from one side to the other it would strain the RCA's plugged into it and they eventually broke the sockets. Otherwise experiment with velcro and you shouldn't have a problem.
