How about the speaker wiring schematic (for imaging, timing, and phase adjustment) that he refers to in the car audio section? Have any idea what that's about?

i know little about phase adjustment, just that its important, you could in effect build a system so loud you could not hear it, if you got stuff out of phaze.

also using an, osillascope(bad spellin there) to tune helps, friend did this too mine and it was cool, you could see the music wav and adjust everything to full power without making the sound wave go square, it was neat, you see nice waves of music go across screen, then you you go too hi and the wave squares off n you tune back a bit.

we did this first on the stero out puts, then the speakers after the amp,

86bird,
You are talking about setting the gain with an O-scope (the best way to do it). What he is talking about I'm not too sure is possible. I don't think that for $10 someone can find all the answers to there car audio problems, or that it would be easy to build, but I could be wrong.

Hey, redcamaro: if he's near you and you decide to drop by, could you ask him about the phase adjustment/imaging thing in his article? Ask him what principles it's based on and how he "knows" that it will work with any car's dynamics. I'm kinda curious to see if he's just blowin' smoke.

I paid the $10 to get the Schematics diagram for the Time alignment wiring and My stereo sounds A LOT better! I had to turn the gain down on my amplifier and now my decks bass control is set at 0. I have as much sound or more from just the two front channels of my Kenwood decks amp. You only use two channels from your deck and three speakers on each side of the car are wired in a special "series" configuration and the rear amp powers the sub. I can't tell you how much more balanced the music sounds. At first I didn't really notice a big difference but the more I listened the more I began to hear the fullness and clarity of the music. I wrote that guy (steve) an email thanking him for sharing his knowledge.

OK. So draw us a diagram. I'll believe it when I hear it.

Not trying to say it's wrong or won't work, but sounds to me it's just a crutch.

And wouldn't it sound like crap in the rest of the car? I know that I'm the only one that really 'listens' to my stereo, but when I have a friend in the car he'll tell everyone else that my system sounds like crap.

Let us know how to do it man. It's not like you're gonna steal any of his business. You don't see us all standing in line do ya? Actually it could be a good plug for him. Maybe it'll convince people to buy his box designs.

Yea I checked it out, about 1 yr ago.

I'm not saying it doesn't work, or that he had no idea what he's talking about. But am I sceptical? Hell yea. Will I pay $10 for something that he thinks sounds better to find out that I don't like it? Hell no.

There's one born everyday, and I'm not him.

AJ

BTW, that last part is a joke.
