Just got my IROC 2 Months ago and installed a killer system. Nothing better than a nice Sunny Day with the T-Bars out and the tunes cranked. So in no specific order...
1-Kick Start My Heart - Motley Crüe
2-Come with Me Now - Kongo
3-Mr. Jones - Counting Crows
4-Thunder Struck - AC/DC
5-Shine - Collective Soul

"Camaro Fever" by SelloRekT. This style is retrowave or synth wave... basically a modern take on 80's electronica.

Not so much by tunes, but bands.
No particular order
Slayer
Queens of the Stone Age
1980's Metallica
Napalm Death
The Green Goblyn Project
Any albums by those bands suit me just fine for a road tip

Can't think of any particular songs as well, but bands:
Metallica, anything before the Black Album.
Soundgarden.
Soundgarden.
Reel Big Fish.
Nirvana.
XM radio permanently tuned to Lithium.

This changes constantly, but right now (in no particular order)
1. Aces High - Iron Maiden
2. The Bell Witch - Mercyful Fate
3. Moth Into Flame - Metallica
4. Highway Star - Deep Purple
5. Foreplay/Longtime - Boston
With an honorable mention for Bitchin' Camaro by the Dead Milkmen. And when I finally get my first third-gen, that's going to be the first thing I play on the radio. (Mostly to honor an old friend of mine that I've lost touch with--Dead Milkmen were his favorite band. Well, them and GWAR)

Seems that I am subscribed to this thread. It is good to see that the forum is still active. Have not had a 3rd Gen since June of 2009. Kind of miss the Firebird. Part sporty car/ part station wagon.
Living with an Australian-made GTO is both fun and a challenge. GM has never provided support for it. Parts are expensive and getting hard to find.
Anyway, your musical selections are as they say, Greek to me, as my taste in music was developed in a different era. The in-dash 6-disc changer has two Elvis, one Barry White, one Linda Ronstadt, one Stones, and a John Lennon CD. If I could play ANALOG records in the car, it might look funny, but the sound would be better. Analog vs Digital is a discussion in and of itself.

Re: Your Top 5 Tunes
I think picking actual songs would be impossible. My tastes vary SO much. I'm in my early 40's, and cut my teeth on classic rock and early 80s pop. I remember the excitement when Michael Jackson's THRILLER arrived at our doorstep, on vinyl, from my Dad's Columbia House subscription! As I got older, my poison was glam/hair metal. Ratt, Skid Row, Def Leppard, etc. etc. -Then I heard Metallica! ....now I live in the south, and I can do country, no problem. ...and of course, as an Italian growing up in Jersey, I have a guilty pleasure of listening to club/trance/techno. James Brown, -is dead. Lol.
BUT...with loud exhaust and t tops out, rock it is, and if I had to put 5 bands on shuffle, while driving....they'd be:
Metallica
Deep Purple
Van Halen
ACDC
Iron Maiden
I like softer, and I like heavier, but while in the car cruising, that's my list. -but....ask me again tomorrow, I'll probably have a different answer.

My TOP 5:
1. Krokus: Screaming in the Night
2. Queensryche: Eyes of a Stranger
3. White Snake: In the Still of the Night
4. Pat Benetar: Invincible
5. Rainbow: Street of Dreams
I'm an 80s freak! I will even sometimes wear a black leather jacket in the summer while driving one of my black ttops.
Speaking of Krokus, I don't encounter many people who have even heard of them. I guarantee you that if you buy or download the "Headhunter" album from 1983 that by the time you are done listening to it, your hair will be longer.

Krokus- Russian Winter from the Headhunter album brought the headliner down in my 80 Chevy Monza back in the day.

Re: Your Top 5 Tunes
Love Zep! (Though they are not one of my favorite concerts that I'd seen.)
My older son had me listen to Volbeat this past summer. Fantastic. (My wife has been completely addicted.) My favorites have to be "Still Counting," "Fallen," "Heaven nor Hell,"
In addition to Volbeat I have been listening to Halestorm, Semblant, a bunch of hungarian rock from the 80s-90s, Steve Vai, and Joan Jett.
This is all a nice distraction. But I'm always drawn back to my favorite music of my teenage years in the 70s. Be it heavy, hard, mellow, Mowtown, or whatever. Music from the 60s & 70s.

Volbeat is good stuff, isn't it?
Any band that can make a great metal cover out of Dusty Springfield's "I only wanna be with you" has to be good!

Re: Your Top 5 Tunes
hey everybody, i'm new to forum and just figuring out how to use it. i apologize if this is the wrong place to ask but i need some help from some audiophiles. I have an 82' berlinetta stock everything. my speakers are all blown. I have no interest in upgrading my stereo head unit, but i'd like to put in new speakers. I was hoping some of you could recommend some that are a reasonable price. I'm not into putting subs in my trunk or putting in an amp. I just want new speakers with good sound at high volume and strong bass. i'm by no means an audiophile so if yall could dumb it down for me and help me out it would be greatly appreciated. i'm trying to put some in asap i'm in canada and its just getting nice outside in the gta, i'm itching to put my car back on the road for the summer but i can't do it without my tunes it wouldn't feel right aha.
somebody hit me back.
thanks.

Re: Your Top 5 Tunes
So many of the songs listed here make me feel like an old relic. Well maybe not, some of the songs here are old. I'm just really out of place.
More likely to hear the Eagles coming out of my GTA. And a whole lot of other stuff, old and new. Just not a metal guy.

Threadomancy anyone? Lotta great songs here. For me it’s:
Subdivisions - Rush
Turbo Lover - Judas Priest
For Whom the Bell Tolls - Metallica
Rebel Yell - Billy Idol
Red Barchetta - Rush
Music from the time period sounds so good in these cars
