question about subs

I am going to but 2 10" rockford fosgate punch Z subwoofers. (each can handle 200 watts) I am going to get them new for $85-$90. Is this a good deal? I am going to build the box. Also what wattage amp should I buy?

You're just referring to everything but the amps right? There amps rule. They are some of the best on the market. Especially for the money.

I've had mine for about 8 yrs now, and I push the hell out of it. It has NEVER given me any problems. And it sounds 20 times better than my friends POS Sony amp.

Mine's a Punch 100 (50x2) running bridged into ONE 8ohm 12". He has his Sony 75x2 running two 10" Sony's. I whooped his ace in SPL, SQ, and Installation. They said his sounded weak, distorted, and boomy!!! And he has ALL Sony crap!!!

Rockford makes quality stuff. There's always somebody that tries to power them with a boss amp, then calls them junk when they keep blowing up. Rockford stuff can take an awful beating, but their entry-level subs are nothing to brag about. The rest of the line is great stuff.

Get 2 10in JL w0's for 80 each... They are awesome subs. And i wouldnt suggest building ur own box. And for an amp get a power punch 360 or 500

I agree with jim85iroc. Rockford has to keep up with all of the other companies so they produce lower quality stuff now. But that doesn't mean that any of there equipment is crap.

By the way, nice user name!! Where'd you come up with that one?
