i have also heard the XM radio, it is comparable to no other radio reception! But as for paying $10 a month, plus you have to buy a sattalite reciever for your car (roughly $150-200) i would say that its not worth the money, stick with the local radio, and CD's

I'm all "XM Ready", and as soon as my bank account as $200 "ready", I'll be buying the xm module. Oh yeah, I've gotta buy a $60 antenna, too.
Know what's cool? I hear that any Pioneer head unit that can control a CD changer is XM-ready. It's supposed to run off of that "IP Bus" changer connector... and the older head unit would see the XM module as a big changer.
The one thing I -hate- is the antenna. I wish it could be hidden (like, dashboard mounted). That's a hell of a giveaway to "Hey! That guy has an XM radio! I bet he's got a hell of a system! Lets go look- bring your crowbar!"
