speakers for iroc

i was wondering what brand of speakers to get for my 87 camaro.
i need to replace the factory ones in the dash and in the trunk lid.
i have a pioneer 40x4 watt cd player and 300 dollars to spend.
all i want is some good replacement speakers.

I know you wanna stick with replacements but imaging is way off. Take a look at DJSexay's post, you can get his radio pods for $140 including shipping before midnight tonight. That would offer much better imaging and you can find a nice set of 6 1/2 Brand new components on ebay for less than $100 bucks. Then You don't need any thing for the rear becuase you'll always get blasted by the passenger side. But if you do decide to fill the rear, defiantly get another set of components for back there too and but them on a boad in the stock location.

I totally agree with Stuart. Get Kicks now while they're on sale because if you're a music lover like most of us you will eventually want to get kicks anyway so since you have the money...you might as well.

i don't know anything at all about speakers, so i don't really know what you guys are talking about, it would help if you could simplify what you are saying.

also i don't have an amp and don't plan on getting one if this makes any difference as to my speaker selection.
thanks
racer

Here you go http://www.djsexay.com/kickpanels/. By using those kickpods you can use 6 1/2" speakers/components which will give you better imaging(due to location), more midbass in the front soundstage, and the speakers can handle more power than smaller 4x6's.

simple explanation

1 - they are fiberglass replacement kickpanels that hold a 6 1/2" speaker.
2 - 6 1/2" speakers have more bass, are louder, and generally better quality then a 4x6.
3 - the kickpanel location sounds better (closer to a home stereo), then having 4x6's aim at the windshield.

2.5 hours to go! email me if you are interested, I order supplies tomorrow morning.
