boston acoustics

i have an 87 iroc.
i have just purchased some boston fx7 4x6 speakers for my dash.
my stock speakers are in the kick panels with a small factory amplifier. i don't have an amp or anything but a kenwood cd player. should i keep the stock speakers working or get rid of them? could someone explain how i would go about wiring the new speakers?
thanks in advance

You have stock speakers in the kickpanels and are adding speakers to the dash? Is this correct?

If so, try adding the dash speakers and see how it sounds. Then disconnect the factory speaker and see how it sounds. Which do YOU like better?

If it were me, I would have replaced the speakers in the kicks with some nice Bostons and run them off the Kenwood HU and forgot about the dash speakers for now. Later, I'd add an amp for the speakers in the kicks.

The problem with speakers in the dash is that the driver's side speaker is soo much closer to you than the passenger's side speaker. With speakers in the kicks, the left and right are closer to being more equally distant. This will allow for an image that is more centered and will generally sound better.
