Thinking of putting the computer back in.......

I have an 83 Trans Am that the previous owner took out the computer and replaced the distributor with a vacuum advance version, and the carb with a non-ccc Q-Jet. Since I will drive this car absolutely everyday in all sorts of lovely Michigan weather, I was wondering if the car would be more reliable with the computer setup. how hard would this swap be?(the wiring harness has not been hacked) Does anybody have a computerized carb and distributor they want to sell or trade me? Thanks for any responses.

IMO, you won't make it any better with a CC Carb. The computer doesn't control all that much. It still uses a regular choke(for cold weather starts) and has most of the problems you have with normal carbs. Are you having troubles with the non computer carb?

------------------
350 with stealth intake, holley carb, 470 lift cam. 700r4 with .5 boost valve, vette servo, tci lock-up kit, B&M megashifter. Richmond 3.73 gears, powertrax locker, timkin bearings, synthetic lube. Custom 3 inch single into 2 2.5 pipes. 1 1/2 drop springs, 1 5/16 solid front sway bar, 1 inch rear bar, custom subframe connectors, custom LCA relocation brackets. Kobel ground FX, current red metallic paint. Lots of other stuff...
