Carb decision formula

Here is a formula that is in one of my car craft's. i thought you guys might wanna see-

Just to clarify, the cubic inches of the engine divided by 2, multiplied by the max rpm you will max hp at divided by 1728. what do you guys think.

I see that formula or one similar popping up all the time and it's a load of horse hocky. 4v carbs are rated at 1.5 inches of vacuum drop. If you have that much vacuum at wide open throttle the carbs a restriction. Most lightly modified 350's will need a 750. Maybe less with a single plane intake. Think about what the factory hot rods used to come with from the dealer.
