I have a zz430 clone with a holley 750 Vacumm secondary. The carb falls on its face when I drop my foot. I think its not getting enough fuel. it has a 30cc pump a black cam for the pump, and a 25 shooter. The secondaries have the lightest spring in them.

1. What should I change first the cam, the shooter or go to a 50 cc pump?

2. When I pulled the shooter tonight it was dark I just want to make sure I didnt loose anything. I recoverd the screw the shooter, and 2 gaskets one above the screw and one below. Is there any thing else I might have lost?

1. The problem isn't your accelerator pump, it's your secondary spring. Put progressively heavier ones in there until the bog goes away.

To make things easier when tuning, put the tightest spring in the vacuum secondaries. Then tune the primaries(shooters, pump cams, jets). Then install the lightest spring and work your way up.

Thanks for the Info guys. I guess I better get quick change spring kit on the way. I thought I would loose some performance if the secondaries didnt open up rignt away. I am looking forward to building the the Wide band Airfuel meter that is posted on Diy-efi. Thanks Again

 

Also I would recommend swithcing out the metering plate for a metering block. (although this has nothing to do with your stumble it will allow you to better tune your holley.

There is also a check valve in the body of the carb just under the shooter. Looks similar to an inlet needle valve. They are different sizes/shapes depending on the model of carb.

 

I have the metering block. 71 up front and 73 in the back
