Gauges
am concidering doing a swap to a ZZ430, but I am concerned of how the gauges will work, speed, Tach etc..
Since its a carb it won't need use an ECM to to work with.
Also I know with a carb one has to disable feul pump. Can this be done more easily then by taking it out?

i did a injection to carb swap recently, mine was an 83 Z28.
speedo - dont matter, could if you are swapping the tranny.
tach - buy a chiltons manual and look at the wiring diagram, im sure theres a tach wire to your current distributor that you can plug into your new distributor. there was on mine, it was an HEI
oil pressure - mine had a sending unit on the top back edge of the block right behing the intake manifold, unscrew it and screw it into your new block in the same location.
water temp - same as oil pressure, find where it is and screw it into new block, unless yours is located in the intake manifold, then you could probably find an alternative hole or sending unit
as for the fuel pump, taking it out is the RIGHT way, but i left mine in because its a pain to get to for me since i would have a hard time lifting the car high enough in my gravel drive without it dropping on my head. my in-tank pump was shot to begin with but just incase i pulled the fuse to it and im drawing through the intank pump with a mechanical pump. im told this is hard on the mechanical pump's diaphram but its working for now, 7 psi stable. i dont recomend doing this but its working for me, for now.
