Carb Cleaner

Last winter I soaked my original CC carb. in gasoline for about a week. Now that it's replacement (junkyard) works so well with Damons adjustments and rod-hanger ideas I want to rebuild the original. Has the gas ruined the solinoid or anything else? I forgot about the electric controls when I dipped it.

You just put the whole carb in a bucket of gasoline for a week? I'll have to admit I've never heard of that one.

You probably didn't do the TPS or choke pull-off any favors. I'd replace them at least. The MCS may also be less than a happy camper. Everything else should be included in a rebuild kit.

It probably didn't help anything, either, because you're using for a solvent the very substance that left the deposits you're trying to remove.

2 1/2" in a tin to lift the grime away, then scrub with a toothbrush and paint. at least it looks new on the outside. The post about the tranny fluid in the master cyl. got me thinking about melting plastic or something.
I'll try the rebuild and pull parts from the working one if needed. Thanks,I have suffered with this 305 for 18 years, and now that this board has it reving up I'm worried it could fly apart.
