Adjusting my carb. failed emmisions in New Jersey!!!

I failed really bad. I have stock manifolds, and a stock exhaust on my car. The legal limit in NJ is 160 and I had a 337 for my emissions test. Am I running to rich? Or to Lean? Alos the choke light comes on everyonce in a while. Can someone help me adjust my carb. It is either a 600 or 650 Edilbrock. This is really bothering me I also get about 12 miles per gallon right now and I know that is way to low for my setup. So i think I am running to rich. Someone help. I'll buy pizza

remember, if your car was originally a 305, you have to pass emissions for a 305.

your choke light is also your alternator warning light. make sure its not your alt first.....

How old is your cat? If it is pretty old, I would replace it because that can make a big difference in its self.
