Where can I get a carb rebuilt???

Hey guys, before I go any further, I personally DO know how to rebuild a
carburetor and know how easy it is. I gave this Holley 600CFM to a co-worker
for use on his boat. I don't want to be the one to do the rebuild..

Any idea where he can have this rebuilt? Somewhere where he can just say..

"I have a 351 Ford motor, please rebuild it to be efficient with this motor"?

Thanks!!

Probably no place, given those constraints.

However, take the boat in, hand them the carb and say, "Make this run..." Probably a dozen places in your area that would do that.

Or, ship it to Jet and let them go over it. He'll probably still need to rejet it, though.

Any reason he can't get a rebuild kit, jet kit, and to it all himself?

Mmm, some people get scared with anything mechanical.

My boss owns a big boat, with 2 (TWO) 454's in it. It's a few years old, so he's had to do a little maintenance to it.
He couldn't get one engine to start, so I recommended whacking the starter, when he called me with the "emergency." He later called back asking; "What does a 'starter' look like?"

Another time, I had to change one of his oil filters for him, because the gasket was bad, and it was peeing oil.

Fortunately, I get paid well for my "consulting," and my boss thinks I work miracles.

The problem is.....

The problem is.. he doesn't know very much about mechanics... just the very basics... he's a smart guy but this would be really taxing his skills.

I personally could do it, since I've done it before... but I'm one of those guys that's CONSTANTLY doing favors for people, and I just don't have the time to do anything more. I have my own projects and crap to take care of. I know it only takes a couple of hours, but that's just a couple of hours I would rather spend doing something else.

So "JET" is the place I can take it to?

There are probably shops in your area that will rebuild the carb. The part I was cautioning about was the "rebuild it to be efficient with this motor" stuff. But, that's just a matter of jetting after it's put on the motor.

I doubt anyone would guarantee the tuning without having the whole boat. Even Jet.
