is this carb too big for this setup??? need help

is the avenger 670 too big for the set up below???
the car seems to have no ***** anymore. it went 13.75 @104 mph, now, it seems like it has nothing anymore. we have the float levels adjsted better, the yellow "performance" spring in the carb and we just dont get it. the car just lost to a stock 94gt----when in the past, it would have put 3 cars on him or more.
is the carb just too big?? would an adjustable fuel line/gauge help (maybe turn down the flow a bit--even things out?)?

Please, any feed back is welcomed and very much appreciated

The carb is not too big at all.A guage to know what your pressure is at would defintely help. Are you sure it has slowed down or are you just getting bored with it.Have you been back to the track to see what it runs now? After driving a car for a while that at one time was fast to you..it may start to feel slow from you getting used to it.I have been there too many times(like right now).Have you checked all the basics..ignition,valve adjustment, vacuum leaks, etc.Go over the car real good to make sure you missed nothing..check everything even if you have already. If it really has slowed down that much, fuel pressure may only be part of the problem.

make sure...

You tuned the carb correctly, you could be too rich. Off idle, creates the infamous BOG. Also spend 30- 40 bucks on an air/ fuel gauge, makes tuning easy, also looks cool in the car.
