carb spacer for a cc carb?

Do you guys think i can put a one inch spacer on my cc carb? And will it help? I already bought the spacer so im gonna give it a shot. i have a cowl hood so clearance is not a problem. I just wondered if any one else had tried it?

Thanks

Dave

I'm using a 1" Barry Grant phenolic resin spacer on mine with the stock hood and it fits.

where did you get the spacer?
was it an open spacer?
did it improve your performance and do you have a cc carb?

thanks

Yea, its the stock computerized qjet. I got the spacer from Jegs a few years back. Its the hole design, not the open. The hole is better for low end torque, the open for high rpm hp. I didn't really notice a difference in power (prolly a few hp) , but the main reason I got it was that I kept getting a hot start problem that the spacer virtually eliminated.
