big difference for 5min of work....

i finally realized why my car was running like crap when i floored it....my secondaries weren't opening..i started looking at it to figure out what the problem was and i noticed the linkage thing that is supposed to open the secondaries was to long..i pulled it off shortened it and put it back on, went for a test drive and it made a big difference, between that and advancing the timing to 12 degrees...im not sure about actual gains but i think i solved part of my 17 sec problem...a 350 in a camaro shouldnt ever be running 17s.....all i know is the butt dyno is very very impressed, i actually get thrown back in my seat now....:lala: :lala: :lala:

The throttle linkage?

So, if I pull back on the throttle, I see the flap open, but what else should I look for to see if the 2ndaries open up?

on the passenger side of the carb there is a vacuum thing that pulls the secondary "linkage", im not sure of the exact terms but if you look at the pass. side of the carb for minute you'll see what im talking about, i doubt that its your problem though because when i bought my car everything was just thrown together and all ghetto rigged..about a month after i bought it i had to pull the motor and rebuild it(at least it was a 350 ) if i can get some pics i will post them so you can see what im talking about... im sure some of the carb gurus on here know what im talking about and know the correct terms...
