Where to get Q-Jet Rebuild Kit?
They are all basically the same. The rebuild comes with just gaskets needle and seat. They run around 40 bucks. You will need to buy the base gasket if you plan to pull the carb. There is not much to a kit, however if you need parts that are not in the kit which odds are good you will, they can get pricey but are easy to come by. Napa is a good choice.
You can get a carburetor rebuild kit at any local auto parts store. I prefer NAPA auto parts for the most part, when it comes to special ordering of parts.
If you have another car to drive, take the carburetor off the car and take it with you to the auto parts store. This will help because they will be able to look up the part number for you.
Sometimes they offer various different quality rebuild kits, some what even include performance jets.. etc...
Rebuilding a carb is no where NEAR as difficult as people say it is.. actually, I find it to be just as easy as replacing a water pump... the key is to just remembering where everything went as you take it apart.

Yeah, NAPA sells most everything when it comes to carburetors.
They even sell completely rebuild carbs too.
Some of those carburetors that you get in the junkard are pretty sweet.... some of the later ones can be as high as 750-800 CFM!

The p/n should appear on the carburator itself....on the drivers side, I think. I went to Autozone a few months ago and bought the rebuild kid....it was under $40 as I recall, including the floats. I was told that the way to know if you need a rebuild or not is if nothing else seems to fix your problems. Mine ended up being crappy vacuum lines, so I replaced the hoses and didn't end up needing the rebuild kit. Before I went for an all out rebuild, i'd make sure that's the only solution first...

Can I get secondary metering rods and hangars at NAPA too?
