timming stay the same with vacume advance off?

timming stay the same with vacume advance off?

ok guys when i go to time my car i will shoot the light on and see the timming then pull off the vacum advance line goin to the carb cause i thought u where supposed to adjst it with it off. well when i pull it off it doesn;t change the timming. is there somthing wrong here?

You are supposed to disconnect the vacuum line at idle like you are doing.Make sure you are plugging the port on the carb after that step.The timing should not change when you unhook the vacuum line,there should be no vacuum pulling on the advancecan at idle hence the lack of change in your timing when you undo the line.
