motor bogs with throttle application
its a 350 with a non-cc q-jet and I have problems with bogging.
I have tried to set the idle screws many times to help with this but it doesnt seem to matter what I do with the idle.
if I hit the gas from any position less than half throttle the motor bogs and stutters for a second and then takes off ok. this happens at all vehicle speeds even on the highway.
I did change the accelerator pump rod from the inner hole to the outer one (reducing throw) and that helped a some.
what else can I do??
Is the accelerator pump only supposed to squirt from that one hole? shouldent it be squirting into both primary venturi?
I dont know, I am humbled by my lack of ability to tune this thing that I thought would be easy (sigh...)

You're giving contrary evidence.
Only squirting into one venturi indicates you're too lean.
Moving the accelerator pump rod to the outside hole helping indicates you're too rich. Are you sure it really helped?
Get it squirting into both sides, put the pump rod back to the inner hole, see if your problems go away.

ok Ill try to get it to squirt from both sides.
incidentally I read that later q jets had smaller idle holes for emmisions reasons and I remember that it said that if you cant get the idle to degrade while backing out the idle mix screws that you may have a problem. like I may have to drill these holes to the old .095" diameter or whatever.
I did notice that this was true. when I set the mix screws I couldent really get the idle to drop any while backing them out. I got to the point where they were loose and the idle was still at its fastest.
I find it hard to belive that this old 350 would need an idle circuit modification however...
thanks for the tips Ill let you know tommorow if the throttle response improves....
