Q-jet problems

I bought a 86 Z28 todaythat sat for a couple of months. The engine idles decent down low, runs good up high but around 2000 to 2500 rpm it tries to die out. I replaced the vacum line going from the front of the carb where it tee`s with the pcv hose to the map sensor. I also tee`ed from that line to the back of the carb and it is still cutting out. Any help would be helpful so I can get home

Does it do it no matter what throttle position you are at. If it is at WOT only it could be that your secondaries need adjusted.

throttle position

It does it at any position. Another thread said it could be the EGR valve because the diapragm did not move when i pushed it in. Also the vacum fitting on the back, where is that hose suppose to go to?

The MAP sensor is supposed to get its vacuum straight from the small port in the back of the carb.

The big port on the lower front should tee out to the PCV hose and the air management valve, the big thing on the front passenger side that has hoses connected to it.

what would cause me to have to pump the gas pedal constantly for it to accelerate? If i let off, it will idle at about 700 but if i try to accelerate normally it bogs down?
