MCS not working

i have a cc q-jet and my mixture controle selenoid isn't working. i can't figure out what the problem is. i've checked all of the wireing the seleniod works because it works on another car. i thought it was the computer so i got another one out of the junk yard off a firebird with the lg4(mines an 84 z28). i put that in and it still dosn't work. could it be the computer likely still? what else could it be? i want to find out if its something else before i spend $68 on a new one. thx

If the MCS works on another car, the solenoid should be OK. That narrows it down to 2 other things: wiring and ECM. Check the connectors - both solenoid side and ECM side for debris/damage/corroded terminals. Then check the continuity of the wiring from the solenoid connector to the ECM connector. If everything checks out OK, replace the ECM.
