Carbs for 305s
Carbs for 305s
What is a decent flowing carb for a 305 with an 2500-6000 rpm powerband? I figured about 550 cfm. Any suggestions would be nice as far as brands go and is my 550cfm estimate correct?

It will adjust to the size and flow of your engine up to 750 CFM. The primaries are small enough to give good throttle response on a small displacement, high-reving engine. When properly adjusted (easy to do), the secondaries will adjust to the demands of a lame 4800 RPM redline 305, or fire-breathing 6000 RPM 400 CID monster mouse.
thanks, I'll check it out, most of the 240-250 HP 305s I see are running a 600 cfm carb, I think I'll go with that instead of the calculated 550. I'm not lookin for firebreathing, just for potent actually. I've got a Lunati cam that I was intending on using for my IROC, but I'm gonna do an engine swap with the IROC, so instead of just selling the cam, I'm gonna put it in the 305. I'm also planning on installing a 100 HP Holley Top Shot for a little unexpected punch. Since the IROC will be down for a while, I still want to be able to have some fun with a low 15, high 14 all motor, mid 13s on spray engine.
