Use carb cleaner (spray cans are fine).
Edelbrocks do not need much for a rebuild. You only have to replace gaskets if your tear your old ones.
Besides gaskets, the only thing you need to replace is the accelerator pump plunger as fuel additives (alchohol) attacks the rubber plunger.
the most important part of cleaning is to blast all of the tiny air-bleeds (in the boosters) clean using carb cleaner & pressurized air.
Also make sure you clean the passage that feeds fuel to the accelerator pump nozzle, and the nozzle tubes themselves.

Yeah it is a piece of cake. I used a big can of spray carb cleaner and did it in a parking lot in an hour. And that was my first time doing an Edelbrock (I have done Q-Jets before however). Keep the manual handy with the exploded view and make sure you don't lose any of the small pieces like the accelerator pump check ball ang spring, ect. Shoot the snot out of every hole you see (watch out for where that carb cleaner comes out or you might have a gallon in your eye!). Seriously a simple procedure. Just take your time since it is your first go at it. You'll need torx bits if you don't already (atleast I did on mine). Hope that helps.
