Hey guys, I have a 1983 Firebird SE with a 4 barrel carburated 305. I was wondering if anyone has made their Ram Air hoods functional for the carburated intakes. I did some searching but didnt find anythong. If anyone knows where I could go to buy someone who already has it, or if someone knows how to rig up a functional kit with just the hood, I would love to know what to do.

Gm did- The 84 HO t/as had functional "ram" air (quotes cause it really doesn't ram - the scoop isn't high enough). The 82 and 83 crossfire cars (I am not sure about the carbed cars) had it too although you will need to modify the air box on a carbed car to get it too work.

As far as a flat hood goes? If you want to ram into a carb then you had better start cutting.
