Dies In Idle When Choke Comes Off
I have a 87 Z28 - non-CC quadrajet that was just rebuilt last summer, worked perfect then.
I had it running after I pulled it out, and it ran perfect. Never got to drive it, but when it was parked it ran perfect.
Now, when I started to drive it today it will not idle when the choke comes off. Once the choke comes off, it sputters around 500RPM's, and then dies.
After the car is all warmed up it will die if left in park for a minute or so (The time it takes me to unlock my garage door and open the big door to drive in).
Even at lights with it in drive it still seems to want to stumble/die (I hold my foot on the brake and press the gas slightly to bring it up to just over 500RPM)
I tried the idle adjustment screw, hoping it backed out, but didn't fix the problem.
Any ideas???

When you played around with your idle adjustment screws what was the procedure you went with?

I had it started again today, but it's running like crap still. The fuel looks to spray out right (When I look down into the carb), but it's REALLY rough (The whole engine shakes) when it idles to 500rpm's.
I'm wondering if this is possibly electrical?

This is just an observation, but if the choke shuts off and it makes the car run worse, wouldnt that mean the car is already incredibly lean at idle?

Turns out my intake manifold gasket bit the dust, so I'm gonna replace that tonight.
