I have just rebuilt my CC Q-Jet. When I put it on the car and start it gas starts to pour out of the place right behind the venturis. My dad and I have tried to fix the bowl level with the lean idle switch and that did nothing. I've been working for 16 hours and ready to give up. If anyone has a suggestion let me know.

 

Sounds like maybe you have the needle valve assembled to the float incorrectly...

It needs to go with the little wire hook on the inside of the big hole, toward the front of the carb fron the center of the little tab that pushes it down. Don't hook it through the 2 little holes, or to the other side of the area that it fits to.

 

turns out i put the float in upside down, good thing my car didn't blow up.
