Code 45

I have a 84 TA with a lg4 stock engine and I was on a back road going slow (go figure) and got a code 45 does anyone know why I might have got this. I did a search and didnt come up with any thing that had a carb so I thought I would be better off here.

Means the ECM couldn't lean out the mixture as much as it thought it should be able to.

Check ignition and timing first. Most "carb" problems are caused by ignition, anyway.

After that is given a clean bill of health, if it continues to do that, do the carb adjustments (TPS, IAB, float, etc.). Q-jets are also known to leak from the two lead plugs on the bottom of the fuel bowl - that sit right in the intake tract.
