What ET's can this carb'd 383 pull?
Ok my car with stock TPI and BBK TB ran a best of 13.34@103mph or 8.57in the 1/8th. Since I've moved I mustered a best of 8.88 in the 1/8th at the track I'm at now. Once I switch to carb probably a Performer RPM Air Gap with a Holley 750cfm DP what do you guys think I'll see as far as ETs. Hopefully better. I still have the 2.77 gears because I'm still searching for a rear end. If I go nitrous later will I need a bigger carb? My motor is all forged internals so I'm setup for it.

more info will get you more responses.
here's what will help.
Compression ratio
cam specs
trap speed of your 1/8 mile
what size rear tire
Assuming you get your carb tuned right....
you will definately have higher RPM horsepower. that TPI is really choking your 383 at higher RPM's
your shift points will go up from what they are now.
the gear is hurting you the most you seem to already know that. You might try looking for a set of gears from a 5-speed with a 9-bolt. most if not all of those were 3.4X and would drop right in yours. surely someone out there has replaced theirs with a different ratio and has their stock ones sitting around.
Good luck. sounds like your on the right track though
