yup i took it to the shop and i told him to check the timing and he checked it and i was standing there and he was like omg i cant believe this thing is running even this good he sed my timing was off by 10 hole degrees retarded he sed he couldnt correct it by turning the distributer that he would have to pull it out and move it a tooth but he didnt have any time at all so he is going to do it tuesday in the morning he sed it is going to be like a whole new car to me cause that was robbing me of alot of power he sed.

You might want to read the FAQs about getting a good timing reading. If he didn't unplug the computer from the distributor, you won't get a good reading.

from what i just read if i still have an hei ignition then i must still have the cpu hooked up on the car and that it works with the vacum of the carb or how does that work ive got a carter carb but i am pretty shure that it is still hei is that posible.

you computer isnt going to still be hooked up. What you would have is a 74-79 Vacuum advance distributor, so you would have to disconnect the vacuum advance to get the right reading, and also plug the vacuum port on the carburater. then you can check the timming accuratley, but if he didnt do that i wouldnt want him working on any car of mine.
