ok new post hopfely you will look at it

ok i talk to a good friend he said that he's got a holley spred bore 750cfm carb he will sell me for 85$ it has no miles on it just ideling on it still polished only 1 month old will that work on my 305 he siad it would but i think it would flud it from a stand still what do you guy think.

next for the kick down on the auto trans mission he said to get an after market kit but dosent that work off the linkeg on the carburator so when the carb opens so far it pulles a cable that pulls it back a gear pending on RPM's. i would like to know if i got that right the rest of the info i put in the corect board

A 750 is pretty big on a stock 305. If your 305 is hopped up then the 750 should do it good. If your 305 is stock you will need to jet down the 750 so much that it will defeat the purpose. As far as the kickdown cable Summit has a kickdown/throttle cable bracket that will bolt right on.

on a bone stock 305 its on the big side, it is even a little big for a stock 350. at least those are my conclusions upon SEARCHING. lol just teasing.

thank you verry much that's what i thought because even on a 454 a 750 is prefered and it's im mid class to what i have fuound and for a 350 most people were putting them on ZL1's or LS1's wich are hoped up and im talking about a stock 305 out of an impala he said it might be just a little to big but that i can adjust the throttle cable so that if it is a little to much it wont open all the way (or wire it off wich i would rather not do).

but in theory how would u dertem what is the right size or is it just a guess i can get spec's on every thing. later on i will be getting different intake im putting headers on it now in class and porting and polishing the intake i have now. maby that info will help. he has a 650 i can get for 20$ less but if i plan on changing intake and with the heads and porting and polishing the intake i have now would it be over kill or would it be worth it.

thanks for your help agin that helps me out a little every one i know said it's over kill excpt him he said he's done it on his stock 302 from his old RS firs gen of corse but i have about the same cubic inch so it shoud work shouldent it. what im relly looking for is a forulma for figuering it out to see what the perfect or about the right cfm is

There's lotsa forumlas for figruing out the reight cfm, i think even edlebrock and holly ahve 'em on their sites, but if in doubt call 'em up, their tech support line will give you the right answer for free. But I'd be looking at 650 max unless you have huge mods. But a good quadrajet with it's air valve can be tuned pretty well for your app, matter of fact it takes a lot of doing to get me away from one, but I've been building them for different apps for well over 10 years now.
