What's the difference between a Q-jet 4MC 4MV M4MC etc..?

The "4M" indicates that it's a quadrajet. This can be preceeded by nothing in the case of pre-1970 non-emissions carbs, "M" for post-1970 emissions, or "E" for CCC feedback units. The letter following the 4M indicates the type of choke, "C" for hot air, "V" for divorced coil, or "E" for electric. There can also be other letters following the choke type to indicate options like altitude compensation, double-capacity accelerator pumps, etc.
