holley accel pump adjustment
i have a holley 600cfm VS and it hesitates if you only give it a little gas. if you floor it its fine. i think its the accelerator pump. it has a red cam in it and i have it adjusted to give the most right off idle but i guess its not enough. it you turn the throttle a little it dosn't realy spray as hard as it should. is there a good cam that sprays a little more?
also, could the adjustment with the spring on the linkage to the pump do anything? how do i adjust that?
could the float level have anything to do with it?
thx

The shooter should discharge fuel as soon as the throttle is moved. Even a small amount.
The spring should not be tightened up.
if the spring is run tightened right up you will only bend the accelerator linkage. Liquid fuel does not compress.
That is what the spring is for.
Adjust the accelerator linkage so there is no slack in the linkage at idle but at WOT there is .015" further pump diaphram travel.
