What to do about fuel-oo(had to rythme)

ok i am going from TPI to carbed on my 88 Iroc, i am going with a single plane intake and a 650-750 Holley double pumper, about a 11:1 compression, i ma making a bracket racing/drag car hoping for mid 12's. but i read some where once(can't find it when i need it) about i dont need to take the fuel pump out and that there is a fuel pressure regulator to drop the pressure low enough so i dont need to remove the pump(i just put the damn thing in there 4 months ago) otherwise should i rip all that out and go fuel cell with a lower pump and regulator? i am trying to do this on somewhat of a budget so i dont need top of the line, but i dont want cheap carp either(snuck around that bad word ) but if some one can give me p/n or a brand or if they have a working one, but anything will do me better than i am now thanks

I did the same thing and I just used a Mallory 3 port regulator. I used factory fuel lines and all. Works great, just remember to set your fuel pressure before fireing the motor.

A stock pump can't feed a motor like that with any regulator. Do the conversion right the first time..or you will be doing it again later.
