Is it a good price for a 86 Trans Am with an LG4?

1986 Pontiac Trans Am, white, hard-top, white (been repainted in 97), 305 LG4 (240 000km don't know how much it does in miles), automatic transmission replaced in 95, never seen winters. He ask 3000$ Canadian (About 2300$ US). Do you think I should try to lower the price or it'S a pretty good price? Anyway I will try to sell my 89 Firebird for 2300$ US to buy his Trans Am... It should be a little more powerful than my 2.8L... My car:

Not exactly a carb-topic question.

I assume you mean 1986, as it says in the subject line.

It seems a little high, unless the car is pretty much in perfect condition. The LG4 is a fair base for performance upgrades, but expect to spend at least that much more to complete those upgrades.

Is the '86 Candian LG4 computer controlled? I know most earlier years were not.

From: out of my mind; be back in 5 minutes....
Car: 1989 Firebird Formula
Engine: Internal Combustion
Transmission: Completed
Axle/Gears: ones that turn.
It's a little on the high side, considering the mileage (about 140,000 miles) unless it's in very good shape. Where it's supposedly never been winter driven it shouldn't be too bad.
It depends on how motivated he is to sell it, you may be able to talk him down a great deal, as it's a bad time of year to sell a car like that.
I'd prolly offer him $2300 Cdn and see what he does. Hopefully you have something else to drive for the rest of the winter...
