Holley Tuning Update

After a bit of holley carb setup advice and training by Chickenman, this is the result. Car is launching with a 750 D/P and stock bottom end 350. Wheels are up on every pass for at least a car length.

Special thanks to Chickenman!

I wanted him to see machine and PM does not let pictures to be inserted.

Yes!!! The front wiggle when they land. At first it hopped then we got it to carry for a car length. Car also launches real flat. We are still using rear sway bar.

Very nice!!! maybe i'll be able to be cool this summer like that too

my front tires have always been glued to the track it seems.... when i get my 60er's down some it might hang em.

The 4.30 gears, T-brake. and 4000stall converter might help it a lil bit too

That puppy is really starting to fly now. And very consistant...that's the most impressive part. Good Job

Been a bit busy lately. My car's not running to shabby either. Just broke my own record at the Knox Mountain hillclimb. Took over a second and a half off my best time..... First Street Prepared car ever under two minutes...1.59.4

Interesting comment about the rear bar. Smart move. I think a lot of Drag Racers miss the advantages of running a rear bar, thinking that " Since I'm not going around corners...what do I need it for? "

The rear bar will keep the car nice and level at launch. Engine torque is considerable and when increased by a low rear end ratio ( High numerically ) will induce a large roll force to the rear axle. The rear anti-roll bar will counter act this.

Mustang next door was not running sway bar and was a handfull. Picked up left front almost a foot and car tried to turn right almost all the way down. Scarred the driver. Went home and re-installed rear sway bar. Still has more dialing in left though car is a lot easier to handle.

We are looking to make car as stable and fast as possible. Will be moving son to comp car next year. Wife will run Camaro in Sportsman periodically. Car must not be whacko handfull.

Stable launch also makes car more consistent for bracket racing. Running coil spring lifter in LR and air bag in RR ( had airbag blowout in LR). Need to maintain tire clearance.

Only other mods are boxed lower control arms and adjustable panhard bar. Also have sub-frame connectors. Using stock torque arm. Have not really done anything with door beams or front end yet. Battery is still in stock location. Weight transfer is not an issue at present. No wheel hop and tires hook consistently. Use video to check tire slip w/marks on rears.

Congrats on hillclimb advancements. Do not have them here, may try SCCA solo w/son and his GSR later in year.
