Best intake/carb combo for me
I have a 383 with an edelbrock performer rpm cam. It is currently set up for FI with a super ram, however i want to switch it over to carbed. I figure since i have the cam, I should stick w/ the performer intake and carb too, but I don't really know anything about carbs so i wondered if there is something i am not seeing. I know I will need a pressure regulator before the carb, but is that all? or will I have to switch the fuel pump too?

edelbrock performer rpm cam
I'd strongly suggest getting rid of that. It's just a copy of an old generic standby grind that's been around since dirt. It's the old "Stage 3" cam from the 70s. Furthermore, I can't think of very many cams that would be less compatible with any form of EFI; it's no surprise that you're not happy with the SuperRam.
Any modern grind with similar .050" duration and valve lift will outperform it. The XE274 from Comp, or an comaparable grind from Lunati or Crane or Crower, will make a good 25-30 more HP in a motor that has decent heads. You don't say what heads you have, so it's kind of hard to guess what the ideal thing would be. But, if they're decent, not a bunch of 882s or 993s or 624s or similar 70s smoggers, then the XE274 and the Edelbrock Performer RPM and a Holley or Demon 650 manual secondary or 750 vac sec carb would be a good street combo that would smoke a SuperRam. People seem to get good results with the Mallory 4309 3-port regulator.

Why do you want to ditch the Super Ram?
You really need to ditch the cam and get one like THIS ONE
Likes a stock or near stock stall and mid 3xx gears.
or THIS OTHER ONE
Likes a moderatly higher stall and 3.73's
Like RB said What heads do you have?
The cam U have will be a mutt in a SuperRam motor
and a real mutt with stock smog heads.
If you're dead set on changining to a carb, get a fuel pump for a carb (6 psi)

Yeah, i did forget my heads. My heads are 202/190 76cc. As far as the rest goes, the main reason I want to get rid of the super ram and go to carb is because the computer and wiring harnes are the stock setup and I know I'm not getting the most power I could out of it. Also, the super ram is a pain to get together with out vacume leaks (which is another problem I'm having) especially where the runners meet the plenum because there are those tiny little screws that go up from the bottom that I can't seem to get tight. They just round off after they get to a certain point and you can't really see the back to and it just seems like I could get the most out of my setup with a carb since I certainly can't afford to get the whole accel dfi kit. That being said, are there any more suggestions?

So what heads are they? Valve size (which can't be the numbers you posted anyway) is not as important as which heads they are. Although if they're any kind of stock heads with 76cc chambers, then they have no place on anything supposed to be anywhere close to a performance engine.
Sounds to me like you might just have a whole bunch of stuff that has absolutely no business whatsoever of being assembled to the same engine. Before hallucinating that switching to a carb is going to make it better (which it won't if you leave a bunch of smogger heads on it), it might make more sense to look at what parts you've got and figure out which ones are causing it not to run like you think it should.
